Raspberry Pi Expansion — 3 Comments

1. Well, my expansion unit came in, and for the most part it installed just as they said. However, the HWClock is not working right, so we are troubleshooting now. I will send more info later on.

2. On the suptronics page in instruction 11:

   11. Register the RTC module and set the system clock from the RTC.
   echo pcf2127a 0x51 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-1/new_device
   ( sleep 2; hwclock -s ) &

   I had ‘new-device’ instead of ‘new_device’. After correcting this error & rebooting, all the i2c hwclock commands now work. Hope this is of some assistance.

   Interesting little interface. I should have ordered the 8 x 3pin JST connectors when I ordered the Expansion Board. They are going to be pig to find & then crimp them.

3. The other tip is to remove the battery and it let clear the memory before your start writing the hwclock time.
